New WKA Briggs & Stratton LO206 Senior Class

As an integral part of it's long-term vision for 4-Cycle racing, GSKA and Luttrell Racing are proud to announce the addition of the WKA Senior LO206 Briggs and Stratton class to our line up. Kyle Luttrell of Luttrell Racing (manufacturer of the Ionic Edge chassis) has stepped forward to sponsor this new-to-GSKA class.

The LO206 is a spec engine package manufactured to exacting tolerances and then sealed by Briggs & Stratton racing. The package has proven to be truly race-ready and competitive right out of the box. The package features a recoil starter and very tight class controls to keep costs as low as possible.

Luttrell Racing will be offering this engine race ready (less clutch) for under $700, or for those wanting to try before they buy, as a rental at $150 per race.

GSKA and Luttrell Racing believe that the addition of this class will bring new racers to GSKA events without necessarily drawing entries away from existing classes. In addition, this class is a key part of the GSKA transition plan away from "Clone" engines. Another exciting benefit of the LO206 class is the opportunity to compete in WKA Gold Cup National events at a very affordable price. With annual events in nearby Jacksville, FL and Kershaw, SC, WKA Gold Cup events would offer GSKA regulars a new challenge with their existing equipment.

We welcome Kyle Luttrell and Luttrell Racing back to GSKA racing and sponsorship after being absent for the 2013 season!

Here is the class outline for LO206 Senior:

Briggs LO206 Senior

Age: 15 years & up
Weight: 375 lbs.
Engine: Briggs LO206 Type 8202-01 Per WKA Sec 708
Seal: Factory B&S crankcase seal must be intact with no signs of tampering
Ignition: B&S part #555718 (as supplied) is mandatory. Only “GREEN” ignition module allowed. Maximum RPM: 6,150
Header: RLV 5506/5507/5511 - No modifications
Muffler: RLV B91 with round baffle holes - .1285" maximum
Air Filter: B&S Green Air Filter Part #555729. No modification to the filter element is permitted.
Spark Plug: Champion RC12YC (with or without B&S logo)
Clutch: Any drum-style centrifugal clutch with a maximum of 9 springs and 6 shoes. No alteration to clutch allowed, except springs.
Tires:* Bridgestone YLC – 4.50/5” front & 7.10/5” rear *(Open for 2014 but YLC strongly suggested)*
Maximum wheel width:* 6.5” (7” no go) front - 9.25” (9.75” no go) rear *(Open for 2014)
Bodywork: CIK style per WKA section 208 – 4 cycle style per WKA section 258
Chassis: Full size sprint chassis – Specifications per WKA 201.1 – 201.12 and/or 251.1 – 251.12.

* Please note that the Bridgestone YLC is the spec tire for WKA events, so if you wish to compete in WKA events in 2014 we -highly- recommend purchasing the YLC tire when you purchase new tires. YLC tires will be required for those wishing to collect WKA divisional points for divisional races.
