Several of us had the chance to see or race the new MMX track in Mooresville. First Congratulations to Simon Sikes finishing 4th and Cameron Spek in 5th.

Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to see most of most well respected tracks in the US and all I can say about MMX is WOW. What a fantastic track.

We need to get all the Yamaha guys up there one weekend when we can race this fantastic track. It is Fast and Technical.

One of these days maybe someone will build a track like this facility. I know if I had the money, I would duplicate the old Charlotte track. Everyone loved that track.

In watching the videos from MMX it sure looks to me like there are not many places to pass. That was one great thing about the track in Charlotte. There were a bunch of places where if you lost momentum (even in fast classes) you were a sitting duck. I liked everything about the old track in Charlotte except the jump at the start/finish line Laughing

Actually there is plenty of passing places at MMX
Turn 1,4,8,9 and 11.

Yeah the start finish at Charlotte was a bit abrupt.!

I am with you, John, lets find money Smile

BTW Michael is leading Rotax Jr points after 3 rounds. We have a lot to work on, like going faster with more grip, be more confident on start, etc. Now I know it was not a total disaster to be half a second slower than Ashley Rogero. She showed national caliber drivers what girl can do.

I think more TaG and KT100 entries will come after past weekend.

Great finish for Chris Wehrheim in the pro class too (3rd!).

Here's a short video showing a bunch of passing places at MMX in one of the soaking wet heat races. I used youtube video stabilizer so watch in "large" screen format. Thx to John for some kart setup help too. Cam is #469, the #7 guy was with Comet ended up 3rd overall.

All three boys definitely earned the podiums! I do not think I have ever been so wet! Two 3rd places and a 5th from the Barnesville boys in heavy rain, not bad.

Really nice track and really fast. Simon's top speed in the dry was 62 mph and 54 mph in rain.

We do miss the Lowe's track, that was a fun event.
