|2013 is here, and YOUR Board of Directors has been meeting to plan this years kart racing season.
I started racing at the Barnesville track in 1988. I returned in 2008. I was disappointed to see how the track had gone down hill after several owner changes, and neglect. But kart racing was on the rebound though the efforts of the new GSKA starting in 2006. Through the leadership of several presidents with the support of a good group of boards of directors, Barnesville was back!
We have had steady growth of racer participation through good planning including property improvement: Hand patching of the track, the new covered grid, filling in and leveling of the concrete pits, grading, and new fencing and painting.
We now need the help of our karters to continue to grow and prosper. We naturally need people to show up and race, to encourage friends and family to come to the track, and all karters to volunteer to help with track improvement.
But most importantly, we need to hear from you, let us know what is on your mind, how can we improve, and how can we draw more racers.
We are in a good position to grow since we offer quality, safe racing for all ages at one of the few dedicated paved kart tracks in the country.
We are trying to make the 2013 season fun, interesting, and different. Please tell us more of what you want, and be willing to help out in achieving our new goals. If something is possible, and if enough karters support the idea, we will do our best to implement any chages/improvements.
This is YOUR club, let us know. How we can continue to grow, and be willing to help with that growth! c
