Chip Robinson has a couple good ones they ran in man cup last year. They are selling them. You can PM Sylar59 for details.

Thanks Darrin. I might consider Yamaha after the Florida Winter Tour. No time to travel to races anymore so I might make a switch and run more local races. _________________ Rotax Masters

Sounds good Jeff. I'm in no rush to change...just considering the options right now. I also have the CRG Blue Demon with Brembo front brakes just sitting around if any of those guys are looking for a low cost option. Need to get it out of the garage and would entertain about any offer. _________________ Rotax Masters

For all that plan to race Yamaha Senior next year please let me know if you approve the switch to the new Yamaha Exhaust. After discussion with 3 engine builders it appears they have not yet been able to get any HP gains by modifying the Carb or Motor. They are still trying to find some top end which may come from increasing the squish or changing the shape of the head. If they are able to find a bit in these areas, the cost would be minimal and the performance gain will be minimal. Based on their feedback, I have the board approval to proceed forward with the new Yamaha Exhaust. You will need the following
*Pipe, Header and Flex. We will be able to get a group discount on the purchase. More details will be coming on the cost of the group purchase, but expect a significant discount.
*If you do not have a pipe bracket for your kart, you will need to purchase or make one. Older or US made chassis you will probably need to make one, which is what I am doing.
Please provide me your response if you are for or against the Pipe and if you have questions. I should be able to provide you the group cost for the pipe in the next day or two.
Lastly, as a racer I am in favor of the pipe! _________________ John

I just spoke to Jeff Bacon. Jeff can sell the Kit for the Yamaha for $205 provided we get a minimum of 7 people to purchase. This is a significant savings. The Kit will include:
*Pipe
*Header
*Flex
*Springs to connect the pipe to the header.
Jeff will require a prepayment for the purchase, so please let Jeff and I know if you want to purchase one from Jeff. We would like to get the payments ASAP so we can get the order in. _________________ John

I’m for the switch,
but we need to have a post from the board that’s what we’ll use next year before we buy any thing, then to get the 7 guys I think it’s easy |

Thanks for the info. If there is no real HP gain my vote is no change. Reading John's note above, is there really any reason to add this pipe, or am I missing something other than it looks cooler than a can?
Cameron also votes no since he would be buying his own...
Thanks.

I think what John is saying is that there appears to be no ADDITIONAL horsepower gains by engine or carb modifications. But the pipe does appear to be worth about 1 to 2 HP. His point is that the Can motor will work fine with the new pipe with no additional money spent on engine modifications. _________________ Jeff Bacon

DWhite is in favor, so if it goes forward please put me down for a pipe package Jeff.
Thanks for all the research you have done, John.
Looks like we have four already: John, Ruben, Jeff (I'm assuming), and me. _________________ Tonykart EVRR / Adkins Yamaha |
