It is not a requirement in 4 Cycle.

I think it should be a club rule. Safety should always come first.

Not to get in a argument, but personally I think full width bumpers promote bumping.

Safety aside, 3 years running with the wide one in local and national events, no bent axles.

Bumping is going to happen, no matter the width of your bumper. With the wide bumper you usually just get pushed forward (for better or worse). With the little one you end up with the other kart in your lap 3 out of 5 times.

I'll stick with the full-width, thank you, and I prefer the metal loop over the plastic one. One look at Brian's photo and you'll see why..



If the bumper on the 88 is a metal loop the other kart probably doesn't end up in his lap...
