CMP was a lot of fun this weekend, but their local turnout has really been down for some reason. That track is fantastic and I love the slight changes they make to it for each race. This weekend's layout was the fastest configuration I've run there, which I loved.
Hopefully, the crowds will return soon. We had 6 in Masters and 1 senior also running with us. Last season we seemed to have about 8-10 every week. With their recent announcement of cash payout for season champions (thanks to Powerade), you would think the numbers would improve quickly. _________________ Rotax Masters

| So if outside the box means we encourage racers to attend another event on the same days GSKA has an event I cannot see how thinking outside the box is helping GSKA |

we had a blast at the race. angus loved the configuration and it was fun racing with the old crowd. we've missed the GA crowd in all our FL racing. even tho angus got DQ'd twice, he still had a whole lot of fun
Ocala is racing on May 28th, and it's sure to have alot of really good drivers racing, and good sized fields!
and Mr. Bushell, i don't think B'ville has a race that date, so all u 4-cycle guys should give OGP a try. it's a fun track and they race all classes. _________________ 711 Angus Hunt's dad

Steve,
I started my racing at GSKA about 4 years ago, spent time on the board, worked the track days and promoted the club and karting to everyone I met. I still promote the club and track to everybody I talk to, that has an interest in karting. I did participate in the season opener at GSKA and encouraged others to race that day as well. I also went to Augusta to particpate in that race last year. I will also be back very soon, when my 6 year old begins his karting, because Barnesville is a wonderful place to learn the sport.
All of that being said, there is a lot to be learned about one's driving skills, tuning skills and varying degrees of competition by racing at other venues from time to time. Yes, sometimes those dates overlap as they did this past weekend. And for that specific reason, I did not post any public comments about the upcoming race at CMP last week, particularly out of respect for Darrin, Jeff, Dr. Chip and others, who have worked so hard to grow the club. However, I see no harm in recapping another event on here, just as we have in the past when local racers go to Nationals, or FWT or WKA events. There are a lot of us that have become friends through the GSKA and have an interest how the local drivers stack up at other races.
Hopefully, I have answered your question sufficiently, but if not, feel free to shoot me an email to discuss in a private format. I believe the best way to promote this club is to encourage positive discussions where everyone feels welcome and not threatened by how others may respond.
Have a good day!
