I got a little kart fix today at the Buenos Aires kart track. It was the final day of a 3 day event that attracted drivers from all over the country.
The kart track is part of the city's autodromo complex which hosted F1 from 1954 to 1998. There was a stock car race going on, which you can see in the background of a few pics.
The engines all were Parillas, I believe. The last class was ICC Sudam, which is not a shifter, but a South American version of a water cooled 125 Parilla. Racing action was great with a lot of overtaking. The fields were about 24-30 racers and the finals were 20 minutes long. The senior race featured a 12 kart pileup in the back of the back in turn 3 after the start. The race continued with a lot of unexpected spectators.
Enjoy the pics!
