Medium.
Any compound is better than the tires you had last race. I saw cords.
My experience is the kart will start to push after about 6 or 7 races on a new set. I buy 2 sets of fronts for every 1 set on the back.

You could try getting it to work with YHCs. They usually last quite a while, and you can get them cheap from people who run national events with 1 race weekend on them.
You might PM John Weirheim, I think he has a bunch of them with 1 race weekend on them.

In a word, no. Just ask Kerry Wilson about those... You'd be way better off with some used YHCs.
