Hello everyone,

OK, put aside those "honey do's" at home, ole Barnesville is need of some fixin up! I have listed the things I think we can accomplish in a day and get our track ready for the 09' season. We will get started around 8;00 and work until we are done. We are looking pretty good and with everyones help should be able to get this knocked out.

* general track clean-up..........rake leaves, move tyres clean, blow out pits and track exit, trim weeds etc

* build new curbs/back fill S turns......build some forms and pour concrete. plant grass or sod?

* reapint all existing curbs red/white..........I will have the paint, this is great kids job!

* re-stripe track/Pre-Grid with line machine.....I will have the paint

* paint shifter starting grid........Eric Penz will work his magic here

* Timing & Scoring building.......Our only actual building needs a "home make-over" Clean out, scrape/ repaint door, paint floor, fix/adjust windows.
We also want to enclose the lower section for a small registration room/ storage. This will provide a more organized and weather protected area and make morning registration easier to set up . I think we need to make this as easy & cost effective as possible. We have a new member that is donating 6 sheets of plywood and a possible door w/frame. Wth some 2x4's attached to the lower concrete blocks, then nail the plywood we should be fine. We need to paint to protect the wood. A simple plywood window to fold up with a counter and were set. Chip Robinson has offered his talents in building this and anyone else that assist with labor, tools, or additional material please PM me.

* one final and important improvement. We need to put up a metal pole with electrical box to enable us to have power provided at a later time. We need to have this inspected from what I understand before the power company will run the power from the street.

Any thoughts here please let me know.

Thanks and see you in a week!

Bob

The track did look great yesterday.

One thing that could be changed are the small flags along the front straight fence.
