After reading a discussion on ekarting news I'm curious... how many of you (esp in Rotax Masters) are using front brakes?

Both Patrick and Kevin use them.

I think Cory uses them.

I don't (can't afford them).

Not sure about Jory or Dale Flowers.

Louis DeJoseph doesn't have front brakes.

I can only think of one senior Max driver who uses them.

I use them... They work extremely well with the correct kart set-up and driving style.(a little diferent from rear only) Also several of the top seniors at FWT were also running them. I even think that Papis' team driver in Senior had them..(Not sure)

Some of the drivers at Homestead were trying it with or without. If you read the Ekarting thread then you know that Paul M didn't run them and did well.
I think it becomes a personal preference either way. I ran them at Barnesville last year but took them off for Ocala. After Ocala, I just left them off.
I don't plan to run them this year except for road racing.

Front brakes are beneficial at Barnesville, but not at bigger tracks. They also promote bad habits which have ill effects on chassis handling.

I have run one season without and one season with fronts. I like the added insurance they provide. They are also easily adjusted and you can dial them in and out during the course of a race if necessary.

I run front brakes, mostly so I can road race. Normally have them dialed out at most tracks.....
