We are thinking of getting into shifter karts. Are most folks at your track running stock honda??

Also, can a 15 year old with 4 years of karting experience run a shifter at your track??

Thanks

I've noticed the shifter class growing this year. I haven't paid attention to what motors they are running. I think Chuck Weaver has an ICC on the way. And Cory has a Kawasaki he is trying to get together before the end of the season.

Maybe those guy's will chime in....

From what I have seen, the majority seems to go with the Honda......

I am not informed enough about shifter's to give a good vote one way or another though.

It really depends on what your plans are with Shifter. Local Barnesville only, trips to regional tracks like Jacksonville or Monticellio? The other questions is what are the plans if any for Enduro.

If you plan to race outside Barnesville, look into what the rules are for the other tracks and series.

If you want to keep costs down I would look at the Stock Honda. In addition there is a movement towards the Stock Honda class due to the costs involved in ICC and Modified Honda's

While I do have an icc on the way, I do not plan to run this motor much, if any. However I will be in the hunt for a Stock Honda powerplant in the near future.
The motor I have is in good shape but I just don't want to run in that class. I will be going with a honda because of the lower parts and maintenence costs.
