Do we want to re-visit the idea about members purchasing plastic barriers for the track? The main reason it was shot down before was the damage the drifting cars would do. Mr Kim has assured us that there will not be any drifting on the track any more. If you recall, the idea was for members to buy a couple of barriers and either put their business or family name on them. The barriers are about $80 each for a 4 foot section. These barriers are MUCH safer than tires and look much better as well. What do you all think?

Just a thought, but maybe the club could do something with the barriers as we did with the transponders..... only a " rent to donate "

For a video of the KISS Barrier system go to www.kissbarriers.com

They are $75.00 per barrier and they are the only barrier system with a variable tension system. With the KISS barriers you can tailor the energy absorbtion depending on section on track that they are placed on. Additionally the ballast system keeps the barriers in place during bad weather, and it also prevents submarining the barrier. No need for hay bales to keep the barriers in place. Shipping will probably be less than the Scribner Barrier which is produced CA where as the KISS barrier is produced in Minnesota.

These are the barriers that are used at the Ocala Gran Prix, Homestead Karting, Monticello and New Jersey Motorsports Park just to name a few.

For demonstration purposes a concession kart was used in the video.

If anyone has any questions please call, 781-843-0100.

As Jeff said barriers are MUCH safer!!

When I researched this before the KISS barrier is the one I recommended after talking with Mark and the tracks that use the different makes of barriers.

It is also easy to move, which was a big factor before when we were dealing with the drifters.

After the big pile up in turn 2 yesterday in the Clone feature I'm not sure I would like the barriers there. When I got punted off the track and the karts following started stacking up and going every where the additional room allowed the karts wrecking to self clean the turn allowing the karts farther back room to get by. With a barrier system I believe some of us would have sustained some injuries. This is my opinion but feel since I was involved I should comment on this.
