Just wondering what happened that caused such a mixup with scoring this week? The scoring still is not right in the briggs jr 2 class , my son Case was 2 laps ahead of Ryan Taylor in the heat race ,but, it shows that Ryan came in second overall . I was just wondering why after having no problems all year that last weekend was a disaster in scoring? I was first put in Briggs jr , then in tag heavy and finaly in tag , it took 3 tries to get this right and still my kart number was wrong. I assume that since everyone got their heat race in and we only got 4 feature races in that we revert back to the scoring of the heat races as they were completed , but , my laps does not show the heat race finishes from all the heats the animal class is missing.
Please if we need to get a backup system of some sort in place until we can straighten out these problems lets do so.
I am not complaining, as I know the scores are doing a great job, but, its getting crunch time in the points and if we need a back up sysytem let get it going.
thx

Before people start asking (not complaining) about standings table and lap records update, I have limited internet connectivity (via my phone) until returning on September 15th.
Registration for next race should work OK. |

I am in no way complaining , I am sure the results will be corrected, in fact the lap charts show the correct order of finish in the briggs jr combined class. I do know that there is new software upgrade package we are using and I am only suggesting that until the software gets the bugs worked out that we have a backup system. I think the scorers are doing a great job..
My son and I are having a ball this season racing , and looking forward to many more years at Barnesville.

Yes, we did have some problems in timing. There needs to be a second person in the timing tower to help out and it needs to be someone with karting knowledge. The problem is, even though I have asked for help with it, no one has stepped up to help. But I am now going to take the bull by the horns. Check the announcements section. _________________ Jeff Bacon

| Steve, not sure what backup system we could use. Manual scoring would be out of the question like we use to use. Biggest problem is a single person is up in the tower. She isn't familiar with the many different types of kart classes. She is very computer smart but a little help would be helpful. I took Angela over to AMB during our summer break for school on our time no pay.. However when we started back racing the new upgrade had been installed. She had to learn it that first race back while we were racing. I myself couldn't do it. People share transponders so that has to be considered also.If racers would pre register it helps more than you think. This way most of the classes are loaded before we come down, but that is not just push a button and it happens. Even if you pre register it has to be uploaded. We also had a radio go dead so communication from the tower to the flagman was interupted in a heat race. I think for the most part our new system is working but improvement never hurts. Also this is a club and problems do occur. |

Jeff , I don't mind helping at all , maybe we can get someone else that is running different classes than me to take over when I am on the track so we can switch out.
Let me know , I won't be able to make it next weekend to work day due to a prior commitment, but, after that I can help anytime.

Hello Steve,
Just started to read the postings and according to our rain policy if we complete a portion of any of classes those results hold. So for the 5 classes that did race the results of those heats will be final. All others will revert back to their completed heat races.
Hope that helps

Bob , I am not sure that is how it works, my understanding is that if a complete feature set of races is not complete then every class goes back to the heat races or the last fully completed session. Please check this out as I may be understanding it wrong.
For example in TaG last weekend we raced the feature, but, other classes after us were rained out so our final finish would be based on heat results. In other words the Tag class feature was just a fun run.
