Wehrheim is a bad influence! He told me about this 100 lap event and I just got back from Harbor Freight with my new clone motor! I'm trying to convince Bishoff to co drive w/me. Should be a lot of fun!

The race will be like any other race we have with the exception of no heat race that day. We are looking at a modified start where the drivers will be in there karts parked on an angle on the front straight behind the start finish line. There co driver or pit helper will have to run across the track and start them similiar to the old Le Mans start. As far as timing the pit stop I'm leaving that up To Jeff Bacon since he is the one who wants it. Maybe he has an idea on how it will be policed.Ithink the burden will be on the individual teams to have a stop watch and control there own destiny. If anyone has any questions the drivers meeting at this weeks race is when will answer them. The race should be a no brainer other than it will be 1 hour long instead of 10 minutes.

With the timing system it should be easy to check pit stops.
Just take a kart and roll into the pits ,time the 2 minutes ,then go back on track.Look at the amb sheets to find the time.
For example a 2 minute 40 seconds lap.

I am not sure I understand , this is a club right ? and its run by club members right? if this is the case then why is Bacon able to just make up the rules? these rules should be voted on by the club not left up to 1 person that is in the race ( BIG conflict of interest ).
And before everything gets started I do have an option and that is to not enter ... I will make that decision later depending on the outcome of the meeting this saturday

After some practice refueling stops at my shop, I think we can go to a 1 minute timed stop and still be safe. Some people do not understand the concept of a timed stop, but as President I am ultimately responsible for everyone's safety, and I feel that a timed stop will promote safety. It also levels the playing field for the less experienced racer. Anyone like myself who has participated in SCCA Enduros knows that the timed stops work.
