Due to overwhelming requests, we have decided to put on the first annual GSKA Senior clone 1 hour enduro. The date is set for October 11th, and will be the last race of the day. This should be a lot of fun and could get a lot of drivers involved. Here are the rules:
1) One hour timed event, most laps wins race. Due to the length of the race, there will not be a manual timing backup, so your transponder (AMB Transx 160) has to work!
2) Each kart must do 2 pit stops, 1 minute in length with engine off while stopped. The 2 pit stops encourages multiple drivers and the 1 minute in length for the stop promotes a calm and safe pit stop. There will be people in the tower timing the stops. Pit stop time will start when the kart comes to a complete stop and ends when the kart leaves the pit. Anyone that leaves too early will have to perform a stop and go penalty of one minute. Pit stops can be made on any lap desired. If you do not make the two required stops, you will be disqualified Tire changes will be allowed, but must be done by hand or with battery impact, no air tools. 4 people max working on kart, one battery impact gun, if used.
3) Each team must have a fire extinguisher for their pit area. Every kart must have at least one crewman (can be co-driver), to time the stop and to man the fire extinguisher.
4) 30 karts maximum for this first event.
5) All current clone rules apply. See the rules thread in this section.
6) When using multiple drivers, kart must weigh 350 pounds with lightest driver. Weights on karts cannot be removable. Fat drivers will just have to suffer. Top four karts to be weighed at end of race. If the person qualifying the kart is under weight during qualifying, your team will start at the back of the starting grid. If the lightest driver on your team is under weight for the feature race then the entire team will be disqualified.
7) Top four karts may get a post race tech inspection, to be done by Micheal Jackson, at his discretion.
8: The normal 5 minute timed qualifier will set the field, but there will not be a heat race, just the feature race.
9) Pit stalls will be marked off in oval infield area. The oval will not be used for warm up laps, there will be one full course warm up lap before the green flag.
10) Yellow flag and red flag situations will not stop the clock.
11) No on board radios
12) Normal fees apply for 1st, 2nd and 3rd drivers ($40/$20/$20) Non-member-($50/20/20)
13) Special trophy will be given out.
14) If major pitstop is required for repairs, kart must exit at normal track exit, must be shut off and pushed to pit stall, either on ground or kart stand, and cannot be restarted until back on the grid area.
15) This is not a clone points event and there will not be one this day.
16) Must be age 15 to compete.

Let me know if you have any CONSTRUCTIVE comments or ideas.

Jeff,
I think we should really blow it out and do a true Monza start (karts lined up at angle on inide of track, drivers sprint to kart, start it up, hop on and go.). This would be another blast from the past, as we used to do those too on occasion. Add a little euro flair!

Why can't we do pitstops with no time limits or no required number of stops. This way people could use strategy, the 2 minute pitstop would give people time to get a hotdog from the fireman(D.T.). People would be pitting @ all different laps,so the pits would never be full.

I rest assured that this is not a clone points race ?
If not is there a clone points race the same day as well or cancelled?
Are Jr's allowed to run ?It is not not specified on the age.
And how many can work on kart at same time ???F1 style ????1 battery impact wrench or 4 ??

Monza starts rule !!!

I don't think there is enough room in the oval.
