I got my road race motorcycle comp license at 60 at BArber: my instructor was 20 days YOUNGER than me (Ed BArgy).
On the track, he outran ALL the YOUNG hot shoes, icluding an active fighter pilot.
They came by me, and Ed was looking back at the young pack, smiling!
One buddy is 69 and still racing.
Another is 65 and runs a GXR-750 on Road Atlanta: 130 rear whel hp, 170mph.
Not me but

Michael, This is a great idea for a race or two. Forget qualifying, line up for the pre-final based on age. I am game.

| I might be able to lead us into turn 1 but the next oldest guy would be Kerry and he would check out on the other front runners who would be mired back at mid pack. Thanks but lets just keep qualifying. If Mike remembers a couple of years ago when they put me on the pole with my Vintage 2 stroke Mac engine against the WKA Flatheads it was see you later. I think it would be a similiar situation but not with me on the pole this time. |
