Michael , I love the idea of a 325 lb class.
I have 50lbs. on Dans already and 30 or so on mine .
I'm also for shortening the main to 15 laps .
Feels like a endurance race rather than a sprint race .

BTW,,,Sure had fun Saturday !!!What clean racing .

I 2nd that. 360 would be better Smile but I can make do at 350. Any less and I probably would not run. I'm giving up 30# in the animal class, and I might as well not even bother.

And as far as a class with a governor.. total waste of time. Could not make them even if you tried, and it would be too tempting for people to "turn it up a little" if the driver was off. Also, I think there is a real safety issue with the stock muffler (and tank for that matter).

Not sure I understand your thoughts. We would keep the 350 and 400 class and score the 325 class separate from us. It would be a combination of all 3 classes like the Animals. I was looking at a way to keep the younger smaller teens from having to carry so much weight on there kart until they grow some. Maybe have a minimum age limit to keep adults from dropping down. Or we leave everything as is for next year. Just looking for possible alternatives. The 8-12 year old Clones is because we had people asking this weekend about a class for them. Flatheads seems to be a dying breed and getting more expensive. I need some help on what we might do for next season. Now is the time to make plans so if anyone is thinking about racing with us next year we can have answers. I'm not enthusiastic about the stock muffler either. What about a smaller spec header like Lewis Stout sells and removing the governor and requiring the stock air filter box to slow them down? I don't have any data on a plate clone setup.

As far as I am concerned I have too much weight on my kart already .
maybe a light 325# class and a heavy 380# ?
I love having a big group and this might make 2 big groups .
The small pipe will take a second and a half off the times as well as the airbox to remain intact for the 8-12 year olds .
Anyone can make the governor turn up more rpm's and a plate is not made for the clone yet that I'm aware of .

hey is GSKA gunna throw another come try before u buy day? with clones being new it might be a good idea to invite a bunch of people out and tell them about how cheap it is to race them. i know i would come. (charge like $10 for gas from each visitor, then reimburse everyone who came with the amount of gas they had to use). i know that i would be really interested in doing this.

Most of us have a small amount of weight on the kart to make 350. Some have none and run up front and give away I'm guessing maybe 20-25 lbs. The 380 would handicap the heavy eaters who shall remain anonymous. This year is set but maybe we will adjust for next year. I would fall between either weights. Mike how much weight do you have on your kart now? I don't think changing our present weights will bring in more racers. I just wanted to make room for the smaller drivers. Everyone who races in our class should make it known what they like or dislike so it can be addresed for next year. We still have growing pains but I think they are good ones.

The primary thing I think most of us want is:
1. Have a large field so you always are battling against multiple racers
2. You are not handicaped due to being over weight
3. You have a chance to win
4. Safe, fun, competitive racing

Hey Michael
I'm with you on the making room for smaller drivers .I was just kicking around some ideas .
I have around 35 lbs added to mine to make 350 ,Dan has about the same to make 300 .
I do not have a problem to adding weight because I can put it where I want to on the kart .But is it safe for me to add 50 more to Dan's?
Brantley...even gas at $4 a gallon I think mine only used about 20c for the whole day .
I would let you drive mine for the 20c worth of gas but you would look silly trying to put your 225 lbs. body in my 160 lbs.seat. ......
Sorry!!! I could not resist .
I know someone would let you take their's for a spin after the races are over.

John ...I second your idea's !!!
