It looks as though the dream of a world class karting facility in Atlanta is about to become a reality! Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP), will be located 25 minutes north of downtown Atlanta. AMP will be a semi-private race track that will be both accessible to the general pubic yet will also offer a country club-style membership for serious Motorsports enthusiasts looking for executive level privileges and amenities.

25 minutes from downtown will be ... ~ Sandy Springs.
If location is somewhere north of Alpharetta, it will be 1 hour from downtown without traffic
Anyway I hope its a real project. |

I'm skeptical, but that would be awesome if it actually happens. _________________ '02 Birel R32x/Rotax |

Chuck-
Thanks for the semi-vote of confidence. To give this a bit more validity - All is ready to go, 70 acres, the zoning is there, M1 with a special stip that allows a race course with noise restrictions. 70 acres – in Atlanta – how?!? One phrase – land bank. We have the investors in place with two backup investors, and looking to get a few more backups to make sure we mitigate all risks. There is no address to keep as much press down on the location until we do a controlled release. Best PR is controlled PR for the locals. I would hope what we have posted on our web site would carry a bit more creditability than the two you sent. (No location, no zoning, no track design by a professional track design firm, no building designs by an architect.) The most difficult part of the project was zoning – period the end! We were very fortunate to be able to get this zoning.
Ihor –
I hope you drive much faster on the track than the roads. I just did a map quest from Piedmont Rd in Atlanta to the address and it was 29 minutes… I wanted to make sure the time was not stretching it a bit. I live off of exit 13 in Cumming and can make it to the airport in light traffic in 45 minutes! Keep in mind this is literally 2-3 minutes off of 400 so it is total interstate the entire way…
Dale –
Wrong way – but I agree, let’s plow it down and start new!
Mark –
It will be in your backyard! You will owe me a coke and a smile when this happens.
Jeff, John, and Joshua – you have brownie points in my book.
To all –
Any help promoting this would be greatly appreciated, I have working on this off and on for almost five years. Please pass it around, post it, etc to the local karting community, supermoto’s, YSR, drifters, clubs, etc to help drive the interest. My butt and a few others is on the line and I really want to make a first class facility that Atlanta truly needs.
Also, any thoughts or ideas please send them now before this starts coming out of the ground. – HOWEVER – read the web site in detail, you may find your idea already in play.
We will have the membership details on the web site in less than two weeks.
We will run races at the track but the clubs will be responsible for the coordination of the events.
Take care,
