Wow, Jeremy, it definitely sounds more credible now! By the way, there was a thread on Rennlist (biggest Porsche forum in the world) about this development a few weeks ago. Here is the link, you should register and post up some details: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=392316&highlight=atlanta

Just wanted to dispel any myths before they get started. Although Hwy 369 is approximately 25 minutes north of I-285 / Atlanta, and my house is about 3 miles off of Ga 400 at Hwy 369, I do not have 70 acres, and Jeremy will not be building the track on the Corps of Engineers land in my back yard. We tried to get a variance to extend my boat garage and that didn't even work!

Very Happy

Jeremy - Can't wait to see what comes of this. I am glad Ryan got a hold of you.

Jeremy,
You Da Man! Especially if this comes off.
Best of luck to you and your partners!
IS this track long enough for a road race? If so, I think Big South might like a date or two a year.

Super news! Good luck !

Cool.
Lets start a guessing game. I spent last hour by looking for a spot.
Looks like it could be between 400, Ronald Regan Blvd and Pendley Rd.

Good guess Ihor. I think the commissioners granted the zoning on a site in that area almost 2 years ago. As I recall, there was a provision for no overhead lighting. no public address and no grandstands. IIRC they also had to provide a certain number days for public safety vehicle training as well.

I had forgotten about it completely until your post.

Still think it should be in Marietta Square, or on all that grass that nobody is allowed to walk, sit, play frisbee, or fly kites on at Kennesaw Mountain...

Since the drought is "killing the golf courses", we should be able to put up a few tracks on those as well.

And what's with all those football stadiums? Not only are they a waste of space and asphalt, they are also a waste of helmets. Of course, those helmets are pretty goofy, and they would be a tough sell to someone who actually uses their head for what it was intended....

Thread hijack begun, reducing speculation of location to avoid public outcry initiated.
