|
|
First, just let me say that I am not in a position to change or add an event to the GSKA schedule of events and this is just to survey the thoughts of the Rotax drivers.
Would there be enough interest from the Rotax group to try to organize an enduro like the Clone event that is being put together now? I thought that if it were planned well enough in advance, we might attract some of the BTK guys too, which could give us some pretty good numbers.
Anyway, I just wanted to start a thread to see what the interest level might be. I like the buzz the the Clone enduro has started and it clearly shows the general interest in that form of racing. So, hit me with your thoughts!
Thanks,
Kevin _________________ Rotax Masters

Makes me tired just thinking about it !
Sounds like a fun thing to do though..... maybe for next season, early while it's still cool or as an additional race after the regular season has ended. _________________ Gary

I like the idea, Gary.
Perhaps teams of two could be in their own karts for two 15-minute stints each.
I think it would also add another competitive element to encourage teams to be in the same make of kart, so it could be a chassis competition as well.
We could run a combined Masters / Seniors class where the 2 driver-kart combos must weigh 770 (405 + 365).
Another notion would be to allow other TAG karts, too (same weight). _________________ Tonykart EVRR / Adkins Yamaha |

If Tags are allowed, Bridgestone YHC's need to be used so their is not an advantage on tires. _________________ John

Steve,
I don't think any feathers was trying to be ruffled... in Kevin's original post he did say from the ROTAX group. And Daniel just had a notion for an invite.
I do understand where you're coming from though ! _________________ Gary

I'd be interested in trying it next season, maybe an hour long race?
Why not open it up to all TAGs and use YHC tires like John suggested?
Seems like more karts would be better racing for all. |

| kevin you might just bring me out to race if you guys did it at the end of this year. Run it backwards as the 4 stroke guys are afraid to do that, for no more tags that are running they could buy mojo for the race. some body would buy them when the race was over. Why change the rotax set up for 2 tags. do it this year so that every body has time in the off season to get ready for next year. Do it after the races are over on the last race of the year and have rick and carl, if they would run the show. |

Alan,
I was not suggesting Rotax buy YHC's, but for the Tag to buy YHC's. I could be wrong, but I believe the Mojo's are a tad faster than the YHC's. Maybe a tenth. If their needs to be proof, I am sure we can get a set of YHC's to do a back to back test. Although this will need to be on the same kart, same driver, same day and same rims. Might need to do a slight gear adjustment due to the tire circumfrance. The YHC's typically have a tire circumfrance of 34.25 to 34.50. _________________ John
