You should figure around 8 pounds of fuel. Most karts have 8.5 liter tanks which is approximately 2 gallons. If you are trying to figure out the min fuel you will need to race a sprint race, I would say at least a half a gallon to make sure you do not have fuel starvation. _________________ John

John is close, fuel weights 7 lbs per gallon, so an 8.5 ltr tank should weight around 14 lbs. Typically, as John said, you should use 1/2 gallon or less, so about four pounds will be lost during a race. And repeating John's point, don't run low on fuel.
