started racing karts in 1958 (yep!) 2 cycles. Then wen to Briggs 4 strokes at Barnesville in the 80's. Did a year and one half tarck days with road race motorcycles, now want to get back into karting.
Clone racing/engines sound interesting: more info appeciated, partic regarding GSKA/Barnesville venue. cb _________________ "kart racing since 1958, was and still the best bank for the buck in motorsports" |

Clone racing is awesome. 6.5 hp motor only costing 139.00. It gets down to chassis, tuning and driving skills. Very limited modifications. Check out the 4 cycle section of the forum. _________________ John

I have been kart racing for 17 years now .And I have got to admit .
Today was the funnest day I have ever had on a kart .It was a blast !
There was 10 of us in the class and I believe everyone got out of their karts with a big smile .
Oh .... and the motor is less than $150 .
As far as seniors goes .We have one now and there will be one more when it cools off a little . _________________ Rippin Racing

| hey john, it might be smart to start up a page or a link for the clone... something around all the rules and a list of things u need. i think clones are gunna be on the rise especially since they seem to be the best thing to start cloning for the amount of money people put in. |

Mike, I agree. Although winning is the ultimate, I also had the funnest time racing today with you guys.
Clone racing seems to be getting more and more popular not only here but other places as well. I think maybe we had the largest class yesterday and I know more are considering getting into this class
Not bad for what some call a concession engine.
Fun factor.................. _________________ Kerry Wilson

| Kerry and myself are the seniors that are referred to with me being the elder statesman(63). If Norman ever shows up then he will hold that title. Our whole spirit and intent for the start of this class was to come up with a less expensive alternative to the rising cost of karting. By that I mean older used karts a throw away engine and having fun. In this class driving and kart setup is used instead of the wallet. It allows us older guys to have a place to compete along side of some of the younger guys without breaking the bank. Next year we will have some of our juniors moving up to race with us do to there age. Then we will have ages ranging from teens to seniors racing in one class! If you have the desire to still compete this is the class for you. We have several races going on between different groups because of our driving and setups. Some have come out of the gate winning and others like myself are still looking to run up front but still have people to race because we are not quite fast enough but yet there is always a racer behind you trying to get past. |

| Shane just remember some day you will become a senior and the kids will call you sir. If it truly is a senior class then you guys need to let me move to the front of the line and win! |
