Hi, I've never been to your track before but I was going to come down this Saturday to race. I see the weather forecast has changed a lot, and it now says a 70% chance of rain. I just want to clarify that you guys race in the rain, as the rules say you do, but one post I read made it a little unclear whether you do or don't. It's a pretty long way for me to go if I won't be able to race. I see the forecast is also calling for thunderstorms, so is it worth it to drive down there?

im in the same boat as he is. im not coming to race so it would be a total bust for me. i dont mind packing a umbrella. . it does say scattered which means that you could race in between the bad thunderstorms.

I can't answer the question of how the rain racing works, there are rules that the Race Director can explain.
However, it is rare that we are actually rained out. Storms do appear, but they disappear just as fast, I think in the last three years of going to the B'ville races, we were only shut down once.
Regards,

O.K. thanks, that's good to know! Unfortunately the rain wheels I ordered where not in stock and I didn't get the message until today, but I do have rain tires and wheels that will fit the rear. In the case that it does rain, I just need to switch the front tires. In the case that they do cancel because of rain, does anyone know if the track will still be open for practice? I would love to get more practice in the rain.

For 2008, we do not race if the track is wet, however we make every effort to get racing in. We do allow practice in the rain. _________________ John

just checked weather.com and they say its a 50/50 chance.... but it was a 60% chance for columbus and it just sprinkled in some areas... maybe we will get lucky up there.
