Yamaha Sr. Should have the usual crew returning:
Ruben T.
John W.
Daniel W
Dave B
Brian T.
Dicky W.
Brian T.
Matt M.

We'll add:
Chuck N.

We MIGHT add Ed White.

We'll probably have Brad B. for a few races.

From the Jr. ranks we'll add Chris N. and maybe Xander and Tanner.

So far it looks like 10 definite and a handful of potential racers.

Out of curiosity, Daniel, what happened in the final couple of races? I know that Weirheim had to miss this past weekend because of SuperNats, but it puzzles me for the reverse race, somewhat. The only reason I ask this is to see if we can tackle the problem for the next season with our 2014 BoD! Smile

Matt did not race the last 2 races because he is a firefighter and had to work. We will not be at AMP because we are setting up for Daytona roadrace. We will run as many races as his work will allow.

Ah, well there are always things that we can't control. Thanks for the update, and best of luck to you guys at Daytona - I'll be there as well!

Just thinking out loud here, but wanted to see what you folks in Clone Jr. 1 and 2 think about this idea:

We all know that Pro Gas is the future of 4-cycle sprint racing. The real question is when the clones go away completely.

Clone Jr. 2 has shrunk dramatically. Xander, Chris, and Brandon went to Yamaha, Tanner is aging out. This pretty much leaves Haley, Austin, David, and Connor.
Darrin says that Connor wants to run Pro Gas. Jason said Haley might run Pro Gas, and Xander's earlier post said David was interested in several classes, Pro Gas being one of them. Looks like Austin might run Pro Gas as well.

What if we left Clone Jr. 1 alone, did away with Clone Jr. 2, and created a Pro Gas class to replace it for the 12-15 year old kids? As the kids aged out of Jr.1, they change engine packages, and we let the clones run in Jr. 1 for another year (or 2), and then convert Jr 1 to Pro Gas. If there are a bunch of kids in Jr. 1 that want to run Pro Gas now, we can look at options for that. This also allows the Jr 2 kids to go faster than they did in Jr. 1.

Like Dr. Chip has said repeatedly, we're looking to keep our racer's happy, and not interested in creating more classes with fewer people in them. If you have ideas, speak up. If your not comfortable posting here, feel free to send me a PM.

Chuck

It's basketball season and I'm a HS basketball coach. It's much more difficult for me to carve out the time.

Chuck - as an upcoming Jr1 parent, I like the plan of keeping it Clone for the upcoming year or so, and then making the move to Pro Gas either in 2015 or 2016.

Thanks for the response, Daniel. Again, work must come first before we all can bring out our toys and play!

On a different note, if there are any Senior Clone guys watching this thread, what have you thought on our class and raceday structure this past year?

I have no idea how close in lap times WKA Clone and Clone Medium are, with the weight and pipe difference, but what would the consensus be of running them in a combo class like in Sportsman from this past year?

In sportsman, the rule was a #40 pound difference between running the large pipe at #400 and the small pipe at #360. Maybe bump Clone Medium weight down to #345, and then count both "Pro" Senior Clone classes in one combined points class. This would put more karts out on the track in competition, which could be a magnet for other karters to join in!

Still, these are only things I can see from the tower and on the website, so I can't really say whether this would get a popular consensus from our driver crowd in the divisions.
