I would love to see not only more reverse races, but I am also looking forward to some races on different track configurations next year.
It would be very simple to have at least 2 more different track configurations with only a minor amount work on the track over the winter. We could run them in reverse as well. Giving us 6 different tracks to use throughout the season.
Giving us more versatile drivers that can adapt better.
This will also help our drivers that aspire to go National racing. Making the transition smoother by giving them more experience changing their set up and driving styles to fit other venues.

What room do we have for more configurations? The only place that I can think of is to take out the grandstand area that's relatively flat and clear, and then put in an add-on hairpin.

Xander,
I said "MINOR" work. not pave New sections of track. Use what is there and do some small curb pours and a few other small concrete pours to allow better transitions into these new layouts.
All of the changes I'm speaking of are within the infield of the current track. There is no need for more room.

If we do that, the only extra section of the track that is old is the one right after the kink on the backstretch, but that literally makes the track all left turns with one right hander onto the oval.

Xander-if we would clean/repave that S shaped cross over off the back stretch to the oval, we would have 4 new configurations by driving the main track CW or clockwise, then turn onto the oval left or right.

I have walked the track at this short cross over, and the transition onto the oval is smooth. The pavement in this short shoot also seems to be in pretty good shape, just grown over from the cracks. Vinegar acts as an environmentally safe,,effect and cheap weed control method.

We can fill and seal this cross over ourselves, or have it professionally paved.

Either way it offers us several new configurations for very little money. Let's inspect it on 11/23.

Just an idea..c
