Hey everyone im new to kart racing aside from consession karts. I just got my first kary. Its a margay kart with a kt100 engine, rlv pipe, hortsman steel nitro clutch and a few other things. I was wanting to know what are some spare parts I should have on hand for the engine and the kart. Im still trying to learn all I can about these karts. thanks

Congrats on the kart purchase! I can't help much with the KT100, but I can tell you that this is the most helpful group of folks you could ask for, so if you get to the track and need a part, someone around there almost certainly will have it, and everyone I've ever talked to is more than happy to lend a hand.

Welcome to karting, Edwin. As jfoust mentioned, you will find plenty of your fellow racers willing to help. Obtaining tools and spares is an ongoing process, but the following is the minimum IM0:

T-handle wrenches
open-ended wrenches
ratcheting wrenches (and extensions)
wire cutters
various screwdrivers
brake cleaner
WD40
chain lube
Tri-Flow
spare chain
3-4 sprockets of various sizes
zip ties (8 or 11-inch)
tape measure
carb rebuild kit
spare starter nut
sunscreen
bearing grease
oil / castor to mix with your fuel
kart stand
spare throttle cable
beer (if you want any help from John Wehrheim Laughing )

Down the line you will want to have:
an EZ-up tent
a method to get air into your tires (I've started using a bike pump!)
various loctites
clutch puller
spare bolts, nuts, and washers
safety wire pliers
starter and battery charger
extra fuel line
spring puller
electrical and / or duct tape

I'm sure I've left off a number of things.

I appreciate the offer, im trying to buy a starter than a trailer. I rented a trailer to pick up the kart in ATL and it killed my gas lol. Ill definitely will keep it in mind though I truly appreciate the offer.

Check with other racers as well as Bobs 4Cyxle forums, look under the free classified. Used starters sold there..c
