Barnesville Vintage Kart Winternationals March 14, 15 & 16 to be held at the Historic Lamar County Speedway co-sponsored by the Vintage Karting Association (VKA) and the GSKA.
This the major fund raising event for our GSKA club. Money earned here helps with track Maintainance, race operations, improvements and the year end banquet. The club would run in the red if it were not for this event.
We ask all members to attends, and help out if you can. I will be at the track starting Tuesday March 12 through Sat March 16. Thursday March 14 is an open practice day. Friday is practice, and the first race heat. Friday eve is a an informal banquet, Sat 3/16 starts off with the vintage kart show, followed,by the final practice session, with the final race heats,,ending with trophy awards.
We drew 112 registered karts last year from all over the US including CA, WI and the North East. This year "Smiley" will return for his 50 th year since his first race at Barnesville. He is now 82 years old, and DRIVES from CA to Barnesville and back home.
Please, come see what many describe as the best historic kart event in the US, and help, particularly with safety on Thurs and Friday with turn and pit out help.

Go to the Vintage Karting Association (VKA) website, scroll, down to the event on the event calendar, and open the registration. Fill it out and send it to Bob.
Any questions about classes etc ask me...c
Ps--you should enter Sportsman rear engine or single rear engine >8.2cc, or both. You probably will be most competitive in the Sportsman Rear Engine..c _________________ "kart racing since 1958, was and still the best bank for the buck in motorsports" |

So far we have had no GSKA volunteers to help with a very big vintage event that benefits ALL members.
And as always, thanks for Roberts Kart Shop for helping out with their behind-the-scenes support..c _________________ "kart racing since 1958, was and still the best bank for the buck in motorsports" |
