Paving the track and race entry fee increase, IMPORTANT!

The club has approached the track owner, Mr Brian Kim, about the possibility of him repaving the track. The cost of repaving for Mr. Kim would be around $50K. Since this is a rather expensive operation, it would mean that our track rental fee would go up. How much is still being negotiated. The question we have for the membership is:

Would you be willing to pay 10 or 15 dollars more per entry in exchange for a newly paved track? The fee for discounted second entry fees will have to go up as well.

If you choose "NO" please leave a comment as to why, even if it is you just can't afford it.

The club is not putting any money into the paving. The cost to Mr. Kim will be around $50k to resurface the entire track. I guess I didn't make that very clear.

Guys, if you vote NO please list why. If you don't give a reason the board cannot take your opinion into consideration. We are trying to improve the GSKA experience. Hopefully with a repaved track we will draw more racers to Barnesville. The board put the pole up to get everyones opinion. So if you vote NO please list why.

It should be noted that this is a proposed COMPLETE repaving: grinding down/leveling of the track surface, prep, sealing and complete repaving!

Quotes from a few years ago were MUCH HIGHER! But the down economy and lower crude oil prices have GREATLY REDUCED the cost of repaving.

AND remember this proposed investment in our karting future would be paid for up front by the present track owner. c
