| Darrin Tebbe wrote: | The problem with multiple karts per team is that all the karts will have to be inside the oval before the start, and you will have a entire set of "dead" karts sitting on the oval at all times. Then when pit stops / driver changes are being made the number will go up drastically, and safe operating space goes down dramatically. Not a good situation, especially in the Jr classes.
Then there is double (or triple) the tech, multiple kart numbers for the same "team", and transponders will have to also be switched during the changeover. Lots of administrative overhead, with much opportunity for error.
Maybe a good idea at a larger place that had a true hot pit, but not at our place.

Points well taken. My other mantra is "keep thinks simple". c _________________ "kart racing since 1958, was and still the best bank for the buck in motorsports" |

I have to agree with Darrin on the safety issue.
That being said, we will not be able to run if we share a kart.
My vote
Adults - Share one kart
Jrs. - Option |

I’m wondering about a couple things:
First, if only a couple of two strokes show up (even we still need to put together an engine for the race) will be very boring to do.
Second, will be much more fun to run all together each on his own class.
What do you think |

By definition Endurance race is when multiple drivers share same vehicle for extended period of time.
It is harder to do junior endurance (never seen one before) because of inability to match drivers.
Why not to call it Team Race (multiple karts) or shorten the race and allow only 1 driver with mandatory fixed time stops.
Normally juniors race finals for less than 8 minutes. 30 or 45 minutes is much longer and if it is stretched to 1 hours, 2 stops for 5 minutes will make it possible to finish for one driver.
On a stop they will get timer with 5 minutes countdown and will be able to continue after it goes to 0. We will probably not get more than 5-7 teams, so it should not be a problem to handle. |

Combine senior 2 stroke and 4 stroke classes?
Comments, please. c _________________ "kart racing since 1958, was and still the best bank for the buck in motorsports" |

Yes, without the kids they should run alone.
Any enduro races have multiple classes together |

Got it. And I agree with combining senior 2 & 4 cycle classes if there are not enough teams in the two, stroke class alone.
I know LeMans, Daytona, Sebring and others combine classes. Just don't want to see anyone get punted by another passing car ala last weekend's Petite LeMans at RA. c _________________ "kart racing since 1958, was and still the best bank for the buck in motorsports" |
