| There must be a mistake about weight. Sportsman clone at 320? Even 290 is a lot. Imagine 60lb of 8 y.o. and 230lb kart |

I agree there has to be mistake in the 8-12 yr old class at 320lbs , but having a light at 290 and a heavy at 320 for the 12-15 yr olds in the local option I agree with. For example Case Hall and Tyler Bell both weigh in around 340 and some of the smaller kids are just tipping the scale at 310 with a lot of weight added.
Having said that both Case and Tyler are planning to run Gold Cup next year and the extra 10 lbs from 310 to 320 helps us a little.

My son won't be running a 8-12 clone class at 290. No way I'm putting on 40 more pounds of lead. And I have an 11 year old, can't imagine what some of the 8-10 year olds would have to have on their kart. We would have 53 pounds of lead to make 290, my driver weighs maybe 73..
No thanks.
Really don't understand Animal modified. They have like 2 or 3 karts show up for that, and most of the time they don't even bother with qualifying or heat races.

| I am still nursing a torn bicep from curling Wesley's kart all season. You have got to be kidding... We had over 60 pounds of lead added to his old kart and now we have to add 10 more. I sure hope he adds some driver weight thankfully he is eating everything in sight... Jason |

Remember these are Gold Cup classes for clones , Not , GSKA classes . The way I am reading it is that they have Light and Heavy classes as the local option for 12 to 15 year olds at Gold Cup events , but, no local option for 8-12 years olds just the Gold Cup class
BUT 290 lbs for 8 to 12 year olds is just too heavy...

They have a "Sportsman class"
IMO, the Jr. weights worked fine they way they were last year even though I don't have a dog in the fight.
Spec tire? Wonder who is going to "buy" out WKA to get theirs spec'ed (Dunlop,Firestone,ect...)? _________________ Rippin Racing

I think the weights last year at GSKA worked OK also , but, for the Gold Cup series another 10 lbs for Case and Tyler evens up the playing field a little. Both these boys IMO did a great job last year being at almost a 30 lb weight disadvantage.

P.S. Don't know about Tyler , but, Case is eating Salad on Thursday LOL |
