[quote="Ihor Bilyy"]I think we all want this series to get even better, so please somebody work with race director/flagmen to improve their, costly for us, lack of knowledge/experience. Feature start was much better, /quote]

Ihor i think beating the flag is all part of the race. It is a special little knack that some of the best drives can do. I really did not think the feature start was very good. Just a little thing of getting run over. Very Happy That also is part of racing. Thanks for the help you gave and we look forward to the next race.

Feature start was OK (on third or fourth try). Heat start was was way out of line. Its impossible that outside pole makes first into first turn if they were lined correctly on green flag drop.

yeah, angus definitely got an early jump on that start. he's learned that from his bandolero racing where they all do it. he was left in the dust his first few bando races until he figured it out. that's also why he was keeping the pace a little higher when he was on the pole. it's harder to get jumped when you are controlling the pace he's learned.

btw allen, did connor's kart get bent any from his air time?

Funny thing is the same thing happened to me at the FWT. I was on pole and the flagman started us with the off pole guy leading??? Rolling Eyes Ain't supposed to happen that way.

We have to start by karting rules, not bandolero. Otherwise some will apply destruction derby rules next time Smile

but it's not karting rules that state that the start must be done so slowly. baker's creek builds their pace up from out of the last turn. it's just barnesville that wants them to start so slow. when that's the case, it's prime season for getting a really good jump just like angus did on saturday. personally, i think they should start building more speed earlier. i know when angus is on the pole, he likes the pace to be a little higher as for him it's more defensive.

They bring the karts down real slow at Ocala.
Homestead starts looked pretty slow from the stands.

Actually, CIK karing rules state a specific speed range for starts.. I don't remember exaclty what it was but I am sure it is on the CIK website. From the couple of starts I've been involved with the speed isn't always the biggest issue. It is drivers being either incompetent or overly aggressive and then not getting penalized for their actions.

And in all cases, pole sitter is setting the speed, not outside pole.
With 2-3 karts you cans start acceleration on the oval, but if you have multiple rows and first turn like in Barnesville, the closer to turn you start, the less parts will be sold by a local shops.

Hey Brent. I was watching/ listening to FWT 3 & 4 on the net so I missed it if it was said. But, wasn't a speed limit enforced that weekend? If so, what was it?
