Ok, so I need to add 65ish lbs to the kart... got any ideas where I can find lead like that? Local Scuba places want $6 for a 2lb block (!), and only stock about 30lbs. Someone else said a plumbing supply place- (what do they use blocks of lead for?).

Ideas...?

we've had to buy tons of lead as we had to put 65 - 75 pounds on each kart. the scuba shops are actually the cheapest. some plumbing supply houses have it, but they are cutting it out i was told as they don't really use it much more. besides, they are more per pound, although i really like their 5 pound nuggets. they scuba shop has it in different weights which is nice. i like the 4 pound squares. there is a scuba shop on cobb parkway below dobbins if you are on this side of town.

405 - 65 = 340 -365 = 25 pounds = run senior Very Happy

All our kart shops carry lead or/and steel ballast.

I'll be surprised if the numbers in Seniors are not the same. People in that class rarely preregister.

Roll Call?

If you want competition. The fastest guy in Seniors last year is registered.

Louis is switching to seniors (and letting Alan use his kart for Masters), so at the moment there are 7 Masters drivers confirmed. I heard of one other driver who is "likely" to be there, so perhaps we'll have 8-9 in all.

Brandon Danke did about 8 races as a senior Max driver last year and though he's not currently registered, he seems likely.

Jason Mauney often registers late or just shows up.

Same with Jamie Maholik.

I'm not sure about Dale Flowers and Sean McSweeney--but both did 4-5 races last year.

Palmer has already registered.

So I think Wes is right--the numbers between Sr and Masters will be similar.

I got 30# from Ace. They sell 5# rectangular-ish bricks for about $10. But having enough in stock--very doubtful. Sad

I will have about 6 pounds (perhaps 10) that I won't be using, already drilled and painted white. Oh yeah, weights must be painted white. You are welcome to use it, Sean, as well as the mounting hardware.

When I needed weight, I got some dumbbell weights. They worked fine.
