O:what is the REAL advantage of a "skip tooth sprockets

betcha the idea is lower drag/friction, lower wear to driver/rear sprockets:

but does it REALLY make a difference? cb

Doc. you are right as far as less friction and drag that = speed, however one bad move and catch the corner of the asphalt and off that chain will come. It can happen with regular gears also but most times you can get away with it.

Michael,
If you use all 5 mounting fasteners the plastic sprockets last longer. However I'm still not a big fan of them.
