I can understand your frustrations. The good news is it can get better. Take WKA as an example. Their ability to run a smooth event and make the right calls have been lacking for years. Now at the Daytona race it was a new WKA. The best run WKA event I have been to.
Believe me, I'm sure it will get better, and will most likely be better before the next Homestead round of Rotax. Bill puts every effort into making it as good an event as possible.
I accidentally walked into a meeting between him and his registration people and heard him 'spain to them that a 30 minute wait in line to learn that their stuff is not ready is unacceptable. I think he used the term 'unacceptable' about ten times. I think the result was that he learned that the decision to allow on-site registration on Friday was a bad one.
Even if the race director and crew are not replaced, I'm willing to wager they are a lot more effective and focused this coming weekend for the Formula Kart classes.
This was just one weekend, and in reality, once the weekend started, it is difficult to solve the problems without risking losing the crew. I look forward to running the Ocala event, I hope...
