Another red flag in Micro, nobody hurt. Jesse up to 5th. They will do partial restart. The earlier accident racer is fine, just one bone broken (foot).

All results are on mylaps. I can check them on my phone (i.mylaps.com) faster than they are posted on results board.

Max Papis took the win in Masters.
Brent finished 5th...great job!

Matt Tilden had charged up to about 16th, then something apparently happened at the end and he finished 23rd. Times looked like he was flying! Nice run Matt!

Keith Karr was also running strong, moving up to 11th, then a red flag and he showed up in 26th, so I think he must have been the one in the fence, but reports said the driver was walking around, so that was good.

Saturday Morning Practice

Looks as though Jesse is either have problems this morning in morning practice or they forgot to put on their transponder. Lets hope that it is just the transponder.

We did not FORGET transponder, just did not want the world to see our times.

Saturday Qualifying

Micro
Pole - 54.510
Jessie - 55.062
Ross - 59.113
Jessie picked up some speed and qualified 7th. Nice job!

Yeah, I guess Jesse PICKED up speed. Would have qualified better, Jesse caught a couple of slower karts, no help from the track crew.

I don't know where to begin. We should have alarm officials about some problems from first such occurrence. Here are some facts I saw or heard and I was watching only some Micro and Masters and all Mini.

- there was no dedicated person to slow down field before coming for green flag;
- same position - no flagman;
These two - lead to most serious problems on the track.
- Almost all Micro and Mini starts were too fast, dangerous and without any formation. Green flagman was throwing flag 95% of the time on first try. Race Director had several meetings with kids to describe them flags and how they need to be careful, but... you let them go fast and they will go fast. It is better to prevent yellow/red flag condition than teach them what to do if it happened.
- if Race Director can't handle properly middle finger from MicroMax driver, he should be fired right away.
- All flagmans were very slow and sometimes completely blind. It took maybe two laps and external help to see a flip in Masters (Keith Karr in final race on Sunday).
In case of Michael's accident on Friday. Flagman was waving yellow and afraid to jump over fence, run to the driver and ask him if he was hurt. My son was sitting there till the end of the session for few laps in severe pain and Race Director didn't even know something is going on.
- Black flagging wrong people (Carl can tell).
- There is no green flag if Max Papis have some problem - "let him fix it and find his way in the formation". But there was a green flag when he jump started.
- I didn't see any black flag for aggressive driving. Looked for me like Race Director was the only decision making person and the rest of flagmans were $50/day from the street.
- Lady on the grid was much worse than Homestead lady on Thursday/Friday. She was forwarding all questions/problems to Race Director.
- The other dude (announcer?) by the grid was totally useless.

And few questions we may never get answers for:
- Why MiniMax was directed to pit? As a side note, they all went through the place with tons of loose rubber. Michael picked up another set of D2 by driving through there.
- Why Race Director decided to remove Quinlan (flip in pre-final) from Final restart and allow Wood (flip in final) to race. This resulted in 10-15 minutes arguing, Race Director walking to EMT while sun was setting. At the same time bunch of guys started replacing driver's visors to clear and others just watching as 3-5 people at once (only 1 allowed) doing this. And he tried to start the race while they were changing visors. The only right way to handle situations was to cancel race at that time.

Now the best part - MiniMax Final will be run next time in Homestead in February. Go race yourself, Bill. The only fair resolution is to award points by qualification time.

It is sad to hear from my son - "I don't want to go there anymore".

Having a 10 year-old child flip the bird to the Race Director . . . how lovely.
