Jim,
We have not finalized the 2009 rules yet, but will be very shortly. I will keep you posted.

Shifters need to weigh 405 or 410lbs. This has been discussed among some of us shifter guys and it seemed like the majority is all for it. and no spec tires

As for weight of shifters...it won't much matter (and keep in mind this is coming from one of the...um..."larger" drivers). I don't think it would accomplish much to raise the weights with the shifters since we have a "run whatcha brung" class (built/stock/icc) which is great so that we don't limit participation at this point.

Let's go with it like we have it...perhaps if I was within .1 seconds of Penz, the Standridges - I'm getting close there fellas :0), or anyone else that beat up on me...then maybe weight would be an issue.

At this point, its off to the gym and counting calories to take care of my issue then out to the garage to try to study the notes from last season, watch the helmet cam video to see where I can pick up a .1 here and there, and coax a little more out of the ol stock moto.

Is it race season yet?

this is off of the WKA website and rules

MIN WEIGHT: CIK class 385 lbs., WKA class (CIK bodywork) 410 lbs. (WKA bodywork) 430

http://www.worldkarting.com/pg/series/rr/rr-classes.html

I have no reason to believe raising the weight minimum would limit participation. Explain this.

The point I was trying to make is that raising the weight minimum is not out of line with "general" standards in other organizations. This is just a suggestion.

The rolling eyes are for WKA not your idea. I think you guys should make the weight whatever you can all agree upon as a group..(Shifters)
