Wes,
Did you happen to check with our engine builder before giving out his secrets, or have you gone independant on us? Laughing

I'll bring your RM shirt too... I'll see about clearing out one of the toolbox drawers to make room for that plate for you.
I'd say something sarcastic, but I'm not too sure I can drive any better than you.... Embarassed

Potential dumb question, but here goes anyway. Is there a performance advantage using a 50:1 ratio vs. a 40:1 ratio?

Some team claim so, I guess Smile
More oil is just safer. We have been using 36:1 past Nationals and reached the best engine performance, most likely not because oil ratio. I'm trying to say it doesn't matter IMHO.

Not try'n to be a smart a-- (and it is hard sometimes), but why not come down and try it and see. That is what the off season testing is for. That is what a good test day at the track will tell you guys. It has been my experience over the years not to always take somebody's word for some things. Believe it or not sometimes people tell you one thing just to slow you down. Unless you are wes and than well....you are pretty slow anyway. Very Happy

So Alan are you saying if I practice with new tires I could possibly make my kart faster. But if I keep the old tires on I can work on setting the kart up to make it run just as fast with new tires???

On a more serious side......Daniel I have no vested interest in this debate so yes there are small advantages but like Alan said, test things when you can. I use to write down all the things I wanted to try during the racing day and during the off season I would test those things. Some times I had to come back for a second or third day of practice. It also helps to have someone at the track to help perform those tests.....If you need help just p.m. me I'll be happy to help.
