Actually what I like, and have used for many many years, is Blendzall. In my years of building 2 cycle engines I have not seen any difference between Blendzall and Burris, either in performance or wear. As far as Castor being better than Motul, we used Motul ALL season in Nick Lefferdo's Yamaha, which I built, and his track performance speaks for itself. Dr. Cheap for what you want to do any oil will work fine, IMO.

Do you run the Motul at 8oz/gallon or less?

Darrin,
In Rotax, I believe they are running 4- 5oz of Motul per gallon. However, I think if you do a performance test, I don;t think you will find any performance difference, just better lubrication.

Jeff,
Just want to make sure I was not trying to disagree, just wanted to point out our experience over the years with the Maxima. We had many engine failures in Stars of Karting when we had to use the Maxima. When we used Burris, we did not.

Bottom end bearing failure and engine sticks. These occurred on our Tags and ICA motors.

If Maxima was the spec oil, was everyone's engines failing and sticking? or just yours?
