I am heading to the SuperNationals today to help Chris try to win the Tag Sr division. This field is massive with 100 Entries with many top karters and race car drivers in the field. Names such as NASCARís Jamie McMurray, IRL drivers Dan Wheldon and Buddy Rice, Indy Lights pilot Bobby Wilson, Rolex Grand-Am driver Michael Valiante

If you are interested in seeing the list of names go to: http://www.ekartingnews.com/news_info.php?n=11275

Updates on the event will be on ekartingnews.com. Go to: http://www.ekartingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=76025

Everyone have a safe and fun final race of the season. Sure wish I could be with you, but I could not say no when Chris asked me to come out to help.

Chris Wehrheim qualified 14th out of 95 in TAG.

I'm not clear on how the heats were run, but he finished 17th in one, and FIRST in another.

In Super Pro, Sodi drivers Anthony Abbasse and Phil Giebler qualified 2nd and 12th, and finished 2nd and 9th, respectively in Saturday's race.

Anthony Abbasse is ridiculously good, and this year was his first year driving a shifter!!! No one predicted him to win, but he can pull it off for sure being the dark horse!!! Good luck to the whole G Phactory squad!

Made it back this morning and boy am I tired. This is the 3rd SuperNationals we have been to. The SuperNationals have some very talented drivers and a great event in many respects, but this year I was very disappointed.

It was a complete crash fest primarily at the starts. They placed the start/finish line in the wrong place and the starts were to fast. In addition the classes were very large. In Tag Jr they had 49 entries and they all raced together. Just too many juniors on the track at the same time, especially when it is a temporary track. More on this later. In Tag Sr. there were 100 entries and 40 karts in each heat race. The barriers were just too big and tall. It was hard to see the drivers on the track.

The night racing was very cool and the drivers liked it, but it made for very long days for everyone - Racers, crew and track workers. 6:30 am to 9:30 pm.

We had a very respectable weekend, but did not accomplish what we wanted, which was the win or at least the podium. We were VERY fast all weekend and had fast time in several heat races. We qualified 14th because we found that our main ground wire on the engine broke, which caused us to lose 400 rpms. Unfortunately we had to start on the outside row in all our heat race. This caused losing 3-4 positions on the starts. The first heat race the first 3 rows were taken out and was red flagged. At the restart we started 40th and finished 17th. Our other heat race finishes were 1st, 4th and 5th. This gave us a 6th place starting position for the main event. Ugh, outside row again, but definately in a position for a win. This time we had a good start. Were sitting 4th early on, but we started to tighten up and started to loose ground. It was a 30 lap main and our heat races were 15 laps. We thought we lowered our tire pressures low enough for the 30 lapper, but they probably needed to be lowered another pound. We finished 8th out of 100 racers in the class.
